The word thalassotherapy was invented by a native from Arcachon in 1867 at a time when sea cures came back into fashion in this country. It comes from "thalassa" (sea in Greek) and means sea water therapy. The healing and revitalizing virtues of sea water were already known from the Greeks and the Romans who settled thermal baths on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

Thalassotherapy will help you to maintain or to recover a healthy body as well as a healthy mind thanks to the beneficial effects on the body and the morale of the therapeutic virtues of sea air (very invigorating on the Atlantic coast), sea water and its trace elements, without forgetting the benefits of seaweeds and mud. All thalassotherapy treatments are aimed at revitalizing the body and feeling better and are a very efficient help against stress, fatigue or depressed states. Treatments vary from sea water jacuzzis at 37°C, coatings of sea mud and warmed up seaweeds, underwater massages to track down cellulite and muscular pains. Treatments cover half a day which leaves you time to sightseeing, golfing, riding, biking, walking or jogging on the beach or discovering the superb Basque country around. In our centres, you will be accommodated from one weekend to ideally one week's period in a refined environment dedicated to your comfort and well-being. You will be pampered by a competent and attentive staff.

Up to now Allô SPA & Forme displays 5 complementary centres located on the seashore around Hendaye, Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz.. All of them have a qualified doctor who will follow you on individual basis during your stay. Their treatments cover all your needs from anti-smoking (Atlanthal) to post-natal programs (Biarritz Thermes Marins).

The 2 establishments located in Dax , Calicéa and La Thermale de France (the latter will be soon in our website) provide a therapy involving bathing thanks to the virtues of their waters known since the ancient times. Thus, Dax is not a thalssotherapy centre to speak properly but the great fame and efficiency of their water in terms of revitalization led us to put this spa centre in this website.
